Florence is a registered Agricultural Engineer employed by the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) as a Principal Research Officer. She has worked with NARO for 24 years in various capacities.

She previously served as Vice chairperson GHS PTA (2016-2018), a Board member of the 17th Engineers Registration Board (ERB) (2018-2020), a Council Member for the Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE) (2018-2020, 2020-2022 & 2022-2024) and Vice Chairperson of the 18th & 19th Engineers Registration Board (ERB) (2020-2022 & 2022-2024).
