KAMPALA, 8th August 2019: The Institute of Corporate Governance conducted the 14th Public Awareness Lecture with great success. Themed, “Corporate Culture: Enforcement, Values, and the Practice – Fostering Uganda’s Middle Income Status.” The lecture was held at Kampala Serena Hotel, Victoria Hall.
The Public Lecture was sponsored by Centenary Bank and Opportunity Bank. It attracted over 150 top executives in the public and private sectors.
In our efforts to equip individuals with corporate governance best practices, the Institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda organizes corporate governance trainings for Senior Management, Committee Members, Compliance Officers, Company Secretaries, Audit Professionals, Risk Management Professionals, Change Managers, Accounting Professionals, Procurement Professionals, to mention but a few which take place twice a year.
Good governance ultimately fosters sustainability, creates sustainable values and helps companies achieve their values. Companies also realize long-term benefits, including reducing risks, attracting new investors and shareholders, and increasing the company’s equity.
The Institute hosted its members to the inaugural member’s interface gala held on 15th November, 2018 at Hotel Africana Kampala.
This gala follows the Inaugural Corporate Governance Awards held on 17th May 2018 to recognize and inspire organizations that uphold corporate governance principles and practices in the Country.
